The artist
Erika Muñoz (30) is a self-taught acrylic paint artist and creator of Matissando Art. Erika started painting as part of her recovery from a second mild traumatic brain injury and found that art was a source of meaning and happiness through difficult times.
She is curious about exploring life through art and using colour to find beauty in the moment.

Erika was born in Bogotá, Colombia and is currently living in the South Shore of Montréal, Quebéc.
The brand
Matissando (v.) from the Spanish matizar, meaning to mix colours and tones harmoniously. + a tribute to my main artistic inspiration: Henri Matisse.

Matissando art is about resilience, joy, and curiosity.

Resilience - art is my resilience workout. It is what helps me get through adversity. It is the act of trying again, learning from trials, in life and in art.

Joy - is what I feel when I create through colours and what I hope you'll feel with my colourful paintings.

Curiosity - in life and in art, through learning something new every day, and finding beauty in the ordinary.
